The official statement…

Seit heute ist es offiziell: Unser enger Freund und Hauptpastor Paul Williams ist der nächste Bishof von Kensington in der Diözese London. Edda und ich wussten als enge Freunde schon ein bisschen länger von dieser Entwicklung und freuen uns, dass Premierminister Brown und Königin Elizabeth nun unterschrieben haben (so geht das in der Staatskirche!) und wir darüber reden dürfen!
Paul und Sarah sind besondere Freunde und zusammen mit ihren drei Söhnen Edward, Thomas und Joseph sind sie zu einem guten Teil “unsere englische Familie” hier. Es wird schwer sein, sie ziehen zu lassen im Februar. Gleichzeitig freuen wir uns, dass Gott sie so klar geführt hat. Und: Kensington ist ja gar nicht so weit weg von Gerrards Cross.

It is official now: Our close friend and rector of St James, Paul Williams, is the next Bishop of Kensington in the London Diocese. Edda and I have known about these developments for some time and we are glad, that Gordon Brown and the Queen have signed all the necessary documents - we can talk about it now!
Paul and Sarah are very special friends and together with their three sons, Edward, Thomas and Joseph they are very much “family” for us here in England. It won’t be easy to let them go in February. At the same time we thank God for leading them so clearly into this next phase. And: Kensington really is just around the corner from Gerrards Cross.

Those twelve songwriters and worship leaders spent a week in Scotland in January to write songs for a new album called CompassionArt. The result is one of my albums of the year and every penny that is earned through the project goes to the charities nominated by the artists - with a strong focus on justice for the poor, the sick and the exploited.

Do yourself and your friends a favour - get several of those CDs for this Christmas before they sell out!

Diese zwölf international bekannten Liedermacher und Lobpreisleiter verbrachten im Januar eine Woche zusammen in Schottland um gemeinsam Lieder für eine neue CD zu schreiben. Das Ergebnis heißt CompassionArt und ist für mich eines der herausragenden Alben des Jahres. Jeder Pfennig der mit der CD verdient wird geht an christliche Hilfsorganisationen, von den Künstlern nominiert, mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Gerechtigkeit für Arme, Kranke, Ausgebeutete.
