Ich lese gerade Tom Hollands Buch ueber den Untergang der roemischen Republik und da bin ich heute ueber den folgenden Absatz gestolpert. Er beschreibt die antiroemische Stimmung in weiten Teilen des Reiches im ersten Jahrhundert v. Chr.

Faszinierender Hintergrund fuer das Kommen eines Koenigs aus der Familie Davids, der sich Sohn Gottes nennt, auf dessen Kreuz 33 Jahre spaeter “Koenig der Juden” steht, und dessen Nachfolger bald vom Roemischen Reich verfolgt werden!
